Bio
Raven I. Lloyd is a studio artist and art educator living in Portland, Oregon. Raven attended The Idyllwild School of Music and The Arts during her high school years and was the recipient of a merit scholarship from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. She went on to earn her BA in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking with honors from Portland State University. While living in London, England Raven was a member of the Creekside Artist co-op and exhibited with The Deptford Artist Network. She has exhibited work at several local Portland galleries and art venues.
Statement
The natural environment, human emotion and the process of applying medium to a surface fuel my art. I am an observer of human nature and I continue to experiment with media just as I did as a child. Painting, photography, drawing, writing, discussing and teaching are my art. Nothing remains static; expressions of time place, memory, emotion and experience are my goals as an artist and what I appreciate in other artists work. Nature and human emotion ebb and flow with time. It is my aim to internalize these concepts and experiences and express them in the images that I create.
